Every WKF champion has 12 months time to defend his/her title.
After 18 months at the latest – WITHOUT DEFENDING THE TITLE – the title becomes vacant.
Only those who are in our world rankings can fight for the coveted WKF titles!

Since March 1st, 2024, a new WKF Division Worldwide began work.

The aim is not to compete with existing associations, but rather to complement them with significantly less bureaucracy and fewer annoying, outdated regulations.
In collaboration with all of our 140+ WKF country presidents with the new WKF department “BOXING/BKFC”, we are also internationally networked on 6 continents in over 140 countries.
The Hungarian expert Daniel Z. HIRLAU became world president of the new department since March 1st, 2024.

For PROFI boxers, a corresponding license and registration in BOXREC is mandatory! We would be happy to help you with this too.
For example: WKF AUSTRIA has already started nominating a national team – male and female – for amateur boxing in Cartagena, Colombia in November 2026. With the official partner, serious sanctioned by “Austria Boxing Union” !

On September 20, 2025, one of the largest international WKF tournaments will once again be held at the Guggenberger Sports Hall in Austria. The City Korneuburg is near Vienna.
The WKF disciplines for male and females will be K-1 and amateur BOXING. Sanctioned by the “AUSTRIA BOXING UNION”
Official WKF age and weight classes will apply. You can find the announcement here registration for your team is just per mail possible
More than 1.250 (!) downloads on the WKF EUROPE website and all others demonstrate the great interest in the 2025 Austrian Open.
The weight check, WKF license, and medical check will only be conducted on Friday, September 19th , in the sport hall from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Video weigh-ins are not permitted in the WKF.
NO WEIGH-INS ARE POSSIBLE on Saturday, September 20

Perm in Russia at the foot of the high Ural Mountains hosted a historic PRO World title fight in Featherweight -58,2 Kg / 128 lbs between two strong Amazons in K-1.
From the Uruguayan capital Montevideo came the No. 1 from Latin America Marilyn CONTIN.
Her opponent Daria KUVAKINA was on the recommendation of the Russian WKF representative FKR (фкр) and the WKF General Secretary Roman LOGISCH from Germany.
An absolute world championship title fight, truly worthy of the name!
Two Amazons showed their sporting skills, always fair and always correct. Many of the “Internet super champions” from smaller no name associations could take a leaf out of these ladies’ book!
WKF neutral Supervisor Mr. Igor BAYBARA from Sofia, Bulgaria, has done an excellent job and has already confirmed the result and the great hospitality of the Russian organizers.

In the first rounds, there were slight advantages for Kuvakina, which three neutral judges gave points for one fighter or the other.
In the fifth and final round, the Russian girl landed a stunning spinning back kick, forcing Contin to the ground and requiring a count by the referee.
Hence the logical unanimous decision for Daria Kuvakina
At the last World Championship in November 2024 in Spain, the new BOXING championship belts were presented by the World Boxing President Mr. Daniel Z. HIRLAU. He was also nominated Chief Referee by the amazing European Championships 2026 in Moldova, June 22nd to 29th.
Presidents and managers from over 70 nations from six continents were very interested in our serious BOXING / BKFC World division and delighted.
Pierre HERRERA from Chile is the first official world champion in boxing, sanctioned by the WKF, since November 22, 2024
Five current champion belts were presented for viewing by the main office of our World Boxing Federation / BKFC.

Next WKF sanctioned title fights in BOXING is already being scheduled for autumn 2025!
Things continue with two planned events in Poland and Austria and for the first time with a new WKF GEORGIAN team, probably in Tbilisi, as well as a planned event in Bulgaria and perhaps in Yerevan, Armenia.

An officially sanctioned International Referee Seminar will take place on October 20th in Mielec, Poland.
This seminar will prepare our best international referees for the upcoming 2026 World Championships in Colombia and renew their WKF licenses.
No WKF license, no WKF Referee!
To date, 14 nations from Latin and Central America alone have been confirmed for the World Championships in Cartagena, 2026
Therefore, around 1.000 South Americans – men and women – are expected!
Our friends will be returning with numerous male / female amateur boxers as well. Anyone who attended the last World Championships 2024 in Alicante, Spain, saw the level of our sports friends for themselves.
