WKF in Honduras
We continue adding countries in Central America, and Honduras is starting to promote WKF events with Sensei Hazahel Antonio Jovel Banegas.
Mr. Banegas is a karate instructor and sensei with more than 25 years of experience practicing and teaching martial arts. He holds a 4th Dan Black Belt and is the founder and director of the New Warriors school, with experience training children and young people in educational institutions.
Honduras has confirmed its participation in the 2026 World Championships in Cartagena de Indias.
The first K1 world title in the 60 kg category will be contested in Uruguay on March 14th between Uruguayan Marilyn Contin and Chilean Jacqueline Ayala.
This title is very important as it is the first women’s title that the WKF will contest in Uruguay, under the leadership of Ignacio Valdez.
Colombia with 5 qualifying events for the World Championships

Luis Mediomundo is doing a great job globally in Colombia and actively participating in the Caribbean, developing qualifying events throughout the country that will form the basis of the team that will compete in Cartagena.
Colombia is preparing for a celebration of sport, and its team will be very large.

Peru adds a promoter
A new member joins our organization: coach and nutrition specialist Sensei Félix Benites, with an impeccable track record in physical preparation, corrective functional training, coaching high-performance athletes, and karate.
Mr. Benites will be part of our team in Peru as a promoter for the La Libertad region. We are also beginning to expand our sport to continue growing and contribute to the growth of our organization in Peru.
On March 14th, at the fourth edition of ATFC, the most important professional event in Argentina, held in Buenos Aires, an 8-competitor Grand Prix will take place.
The winner will be crowned Argentine WKF and WKN Champion, a historic achievement for the country.
